Feast or famine, aka whining

I routinely have my television on, but really can not tell you what I am watching. Three of the programs I do follow with regularity, Eureka, Project Runway, and Dancing with the Stars, are time-slot annoyances for me this week.

Hence the whining ...

This evening is the mid-season finale of Eureka and the second night of the Dancing premiere. Sure, I can flip back and forth between the two shows or even simply tape (yes, tape and I have a love/hate relationship with my VCR) one of the two. But why is it that the shows I like are always on at the same time?

Tomorrow I work the last of my two reference evening shifts and I will get home in time to see the second half of both Project Runway and the Dancing results show (which has to be on at 9 instead of 8). Not as big of an issue because I usually boycott the annoying results show until the final fifteen minutes, but still. I will be watching for the red light to go out over one of the couples and anticipating Heidi saying "Auf wiedersehen" to one of the designers at the same time.

You should be dancing … yeah!

I missed the official announcement on Good Morning America this morning, a quick search at lunch after three people asked me what I thought of the new season's stars garnered the cast list posted below. I have to admit there are several new cast members I have never heard of before today, but there you go (smile). No big surprise to see another ABC soap star on the list, nor a several athletes, a Disney channel star, or singer/musicians; it's a formula that works for DWTS. Anyway, in alphabetical order (I am a librarian after all):

Live! It's Dancing with the Stars

Tonight on the Dancing with the Stars results show, (can I just say ... Def Leppard?) it was Shannon and Derek's turn to go home. Not a fan of that particular couple, I must admit I am not all that sorry to see them go. As it gets closer and closer to the final three I have begun using my cell phone and land line to vote. Next week I might just have to go online and vote electronically as well.

Dancing with the Stars!

I just learned the new cast of Dancing with the Stars will be announced tonight during the season finale of Dance Wars: Bruno vs Carrie Ann (don't watch it, sorry). The season premiere is scheduled for Monday, March 17th at 8:00 pm. A few rumors include:

• Adam Corolla to go Dancing With the Stars - Access Hollywood
• New Cast of Dancing with the Stars Revealed - Platinum Celebs
• New Cast of Dancing with the Stars Revealed - Dotspotter

Not much to go on at this point; guess I'll have to wait for Dance Wars or check the Dancing site later!

The last dance

Woo-hooo, Helio and Julianne! My votes count after all. I admit to being one of the millions who voted via phone and online for my favorites in the finale. I voted every week throughout the season and was glad to see Helio and Mel B (she really started to grow on me, great personality and serious dance talent) in the final two. I enjoyed Marie, but her performance was not as polished. I especially liked Helio because he had little or no previous dance experience. It didn't take long for the dust to settle and rumors and comments to start. Here's some of what I found this evening:

I'm done ... email away!

After working late into last evening, throughout the day at work (even during lunch), I finished my article this afternoon and with a great deal of relief submitted it via email to the journal's assistant editor as requested. My final word count was 5,819; not including the bibliography, Internet resources, and literature review. I managed to stay within the 3,000 to 6,000 suggested word total. Whew!

Now, it is Monday evening and time for Dancing with the Stars- AND - Monday night football with the Steelers and the Ravens (boooo).

Feast or famine, the remote will get a work out tonight.

Random "dancing" thoughts ...

I better type this in the post editor quickly as it has taken me over an hour to successfully log in to my blogger account. After 45 minutes of trying to log in and being told "to access your blogs, sign in with your Google account" ( gee, I never thought of that!) I had given up. I even tried to access my blog via three different browsers, just in case, to no avail. Irritation won out, deciding there will be no witty repartee regarding my day yesterday, and I prepared to shut down my computer.

I saw an advertisement this evening for the new spring season of "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC. They will be announcing the cast exclusively on Good Morning America tomorrow morning sometime. However, after a quick search I found TMZ.com is reporting a few of the cast members. Included on their list are Billy Ray Cyrus (so help me, if we hear that song...) and Ian Ziering (Not a 90210 fan, I remember him from Guiding light many, many years ago). Time will tell if the rumors are correct. It's time to put on those boogie shoes!
